When you get your hands on some dry cloths, you're just not too picky about where you put them on. This happened to be a particularly good spot. |

Tony was there waiting for us when we got out of the runner's area at the finish. Later this day, Tony presented Laura with the engagement ring he had been keeping secret for weeks. The original plan was to have a big banner and propose as close to the finish line as possible. The crutches spoiled all that. Even though it was less dramatic, she still accepted. Laura can now say "I went to Las Vegas to run a marathon and came back engaged." But hey, in Las Vegas she could have come back married! What a great pair. |

Tony's friend Scott, who lives in Las Vegas, was going to pick us up after the race (after he got off work). We got done just a little earlier than he did so Kathy decided to take a nap. |

Guess who showed up on the Channel 3 evening news? They did quite a nice segment on the marathon and we just happened to be in the right place at the right time. |
